The BC Ministry of Education requires advanced university coursework for teachers with specialist responsibilities related to students with special learning needs. Please see the Special Education Services: Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for more information about recommended qualifications.

BC CASE also encourages you to consult with district Human Resources departments to verify specific local requirements for teaching in the field of Special Education.
